Desks

Why I have chosen to put up this post is because I want to show people of how to mkae a desk when they need to for their class so that when they need help for making a desk then they have this to look at and make desks.
What is happening in side my blog post is that I ma showing you what I did at Wesley Intermediate which I made desks with my team mates,and this slide shows you of how to make part of a desk.
What was challenging was that I was kind of scared when it came to cutting the wood.This was becasue the machine for cutting the wood was sharp and I was scared that I might cut my self using the tool.
How I overcame this is I got help from the Wesley Intermediate helper Marianlee.She helped me hold onto the machinel.:)
What I enjoyed about this is that we got to use diiferent tools to make the desks.And also what I enjoyed is when we all got to work together as a team and also it shows how much effort we put into our work.

How to dress up for cycling

I have chosen this post because I think that children/adults/teenagers should always be safe on there bike,especially their clothing that they are wearing.

What I am writing about is how you should be dressed if you are wearing a bike.

What I enjoyed was actually learning how to ride a bike so I know what type of clothing to wear.

What I thought was challenging was trying to find the right words to explain what to do.

How I overcame it is by me searching up online for some pictures, of a bike which showed labels of what parts a bike had.

Breakfast Club persuading

I have chosen this post because I want to try and persuade people to go to  breakfast club to have their breakfast there.

What I have to do is make a persuading poster.This persuading poster is to persuade the kids to come and have breakfast at breakfast club.
What I enjoyed was trying to find pictures and information to persuade them to come to have a yummy breakfast at breakfast club.
What was challenging was to try and think up new sentence openers to start the sentence. What was also hard was trying to think through the voice typer.
I overcame it by looking on the active board for ideas,and typing instead of voice typing.

Shared Lunch

Why I have chosen this post is because this is a special event and I want to remember it when we all spent time together and had fun.

What we did was have a shared lunch where we got a voucher from the food for thought.

What I enjoyed was that we got to make the food and then we got to eat it.

What was challenging was cutting the kumara.

I overcame it by getting help by getting help from the teacher.

 

 “I just can’t wait to eat!”I said in my mind, I was starving.When we got  to the staff room  our teacher, (Mr Margetts) set up the room and  gave  us jobs.

 “Caroline, John,  Lucy,Viliami you  can chop and peel  the  Kumaras!”So we got straight to work.

“  Me and Lucy  will peel  and you and Viliami chop!”I told John.When we started peeling,it was so much complicated.At the end we got the hang of it.

We all started setting up the table.On the table we put sandwiches,a dip,some fruits,veges and other wonderful food.Mr Margetts choose Annie to pray for us.Than we all raced to get the delicious food.

I raced for the sandwiches,carrots and everything,()but mostly I was going for the pineapple and cheese on stick!)I munched on the food and got even more food and got even more food that I could ever imagine.

“This is yum!”Exclaimed Franzene.

“No,this is DELICIOUS!And I mean it!”But I only said that in my head.

After 1 of the most delicious feast of my life,we cleaned up our mess and packed up to go to our class.:)

I felt excited because we were eating delicious food.What went well was setting up the table with food.What was challenging was when we had to chop the kumara.

Breakfast is important!

I have chosen this post because I have learnt that breakfast is one of the most incredible food that we should eat as well as knowing the facts that we should all eat breakfast everyday.

What we did was that we had to write a letter.On the letter we had to write to children to try and persuade them to never skip breakfast and eat breakfast so they can get enough energy.

What I enjoyed was trying to think up some new ideas and also trying the voice google to talk to and then it will type it up instead of typing it up using my bare hands.
What was challenging was speaking through the google voice because some of the words that I said came up wrong and then I had to go back and edit it.
I overcame this challenge by editing it and saying it slowly so that the app could hear what was saying and then had to go back and edit y work but luckily it fixed all my mistakes.

Hello my Name is Caroline Aleki. I am writing to you to say that think that you should NEVER EVER skip breakfast,you will see soon why I think this.

I say this  because you (the children)are getting hungry and sleepy,and when that happens,your mind will be set on food instead of the work and when that happens,than you will be asked questions by the teacher but the whole time you weren’t even listening!

Another  Reason that I think you just want to skip breakfast to lose weight but then actually you are  gaining more way   by Having food that is over rated for your body.And  when you eat does types of food,it won’t give you enough fiber and energy that you really need.

There are loads of other reasons that you should be eating breakfast as well as getting more energy!Breakfast is different from your dinner and your morning tea.So I think that breakfast is important for us!

Tongan Clothes

I have chosen this post because it is Tongan language week this week.Also we want to show that we know a bit of Tongan culture and then teachers can teach this to the kids in their class.And also for the parents they can teach their kids and the kids will pass it on to their little brothers and sister so that they know more about the Tongan culture.What we did was learn about some Tongan clothes and write a slide about it. What I enjoyed was searching for clothes online which were beautiful.What was difficult was trying to join in with coming up with ideas for Tongan clothes.I overcame it by getting help from my 2 friends,who are Tongans!

Splendid astounding Slugs

I am doing this because I want to help kids with their learning and also reflect my knowledge on to other people and then it spreads around to everyone!

What I'm doing is writing a report about slugs.We went out into the garden to find an insect and we found one and had to make a report about that insect.

The best thing I enjoyed was going to find an insect which was pretty hard because they were so small that you could hardly ever see them.But what was exploring around the school where we found plats that had some insects stuck on them.

What was challenging was that we had to find a different insect other then an ant.We had to find something else because we knew more about ants then any other insects.

Me and my group over came it by finding a slug that was on a bark.We rejoiced that we had found another insect,other then an ant.

What are slugs

Slugs are tiny insects that are slithery.They create slime when they go along.They live in gardens but,most of the time you would see them where there is a lot of water.

Habitat

Slugs live in wet damp places.They like to live there so they can suck  the water.They would rather live in damp conditions,then live in the warm conditions because,there would be more  water to drink from.Britain has 30 different types of slugs that are all different types of sizes and lengths.

Reproduction

Slugs don’t need a mate to reproduce babies.They can reproduce by themselves but still need a mate.When a lady slug reproduces,it reproduces around 30 eggs.Not just 30 eggs,HUNDREDS of eggs,the eggs crack and the slugs come out and then the baby slugs that are ladies will do the same thing like their mother.Some slugs have names but if,they grow up without a parent,then they will not have a name.

Slugs slime

A slug's slime can absorb water when it moves.Some times when you place it on your hand it puts slime on you hand and sometimes,it is impossible to take the slime of your hand!So make sure you don’t get too close to slime.

Color of a slugs blood

A slugs color of blood is way different from us so that means that they have a different color of their blood.We have red blood but for the slugs,they have green blood.If you squash it,green blood will start oozing out.

Colors of a slug

A color of a slug is brown or either black.If it is a black slug it can camouflage to black things,even to the dark.but for the brown slugs,they can camouflage to all brown things around the so they don’t get eaten by the animals that surround them.

Adaptation

A slugs adaptation is slime.As you see in the introduction I have told you that when slugs move around they create slime.When you follow a slug,you would see a track of green slime at the back of a slug when it moves around.

Length

Did you know that a slug can grow 20 times as long as their normal length?Amazing right.These slugs have amazing adaptations and they have different types of ways to show it.

Teeth

This is where it gets more exciting.Did you know that a slug has 3,000 teeth?It is like a shark.And when a slug loses its teeth,it can replace it and it can grow,and grow and grow.A slug is kind of similar to a shark but instead a slug is little and a shark is enormous.

Attack

We are not afraid of slugs but,some insects are because,when an insect tries to get the slug,then the slug will run away an the insect will slip.You know why?Because the slug made a trail of slime!

Glossary:

Reproduce-Creating babies for that kind of creature.

Camouflage-Blend in with a color so if you were a tiger then you would blend in with things that are orange.

Oozing-going out

absorb-Absorb means like sucking in things.For example a slug absorbs water so it gets water.

Oh no!Storm was too happy that she celebrated,and forgot that the evil villain couldn’t die,even if you struck him with all your might,but there was only 1 way but no body knew how to defeat the evil villain..She was too busy chatting with Captain America when,on the news there was a person that looked like an evil villain,wait a minute,it was the evil villain!She grew furious,the evil villain said,

“HAHAHAHAHAHA,Storm,Storm,Storm.You thought you killed me,but you will never ever get me!”Captain America turned to talk to Storm,but she was already gone.

Storm flew to the destination and got the evil villain and said,

“You are an  evil villain and you deserve to die!Her voice thundered.

“HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA!You  think that you can destroy an evil villain like me?Well you will have to try better!”He took out his hands and created a bull of lightning.He tried to strike Storm but she was as quick as a bolt of lightning!She hit the lightning and sent the lightning all the way to the villain,

“NOOO!”And that was his last words.She buried him underground and flew back to the city.An everyone celebrated the greatest win of all.

Wesley intermediate!

I put up this post because it is one of the most happiest times in my life to enter the school.

We went to Wesley Intermediate for different reasons!1.We went there to have fun.2.We went there to learn some games and learn somethings that we didn't know.3.Know which school we were going to.4.It was open day and we had to go and visit Wesley Intermediate!
What I enjoyed was cooking,music,I think I enjoyed everything!Especially  getting to meet up with our old friends from last year and playing music!But the most exciting bit was eating the delicious cookies!
What was challenging was making the shapes of the cookies but,I over came it by asking for help by my helper,and also from my buddy.

On a sunny/rainy Friday,we were ready to go to Wesley Intermediate.We were excited when we entered the hall.We met the principal who put us into groups.There was a red group and a blue group.I was sad that I didn’t have my friends with me but,it turned out that I enjoyed it,even without my friends!

Me and my group went to the workshop first.We had a teacher called Mr Reddy.He told us about the rules in the workshop.One of them was not to cross the line where there were  razor blades and all these types of sharp things that could injure you or kill you!So we went of and made our names.First of all we had to write the first letter of our name and the we had to go and write it on the wood.When we got to chopping it,I was shy because I didn’t really know how to use it but,Nin Liwin helped me.At the end of the lesson I was finished making my name!

We walked swiftly back to the hall because,the rain was pouring on us but we got there as quick as a flash to eat our delicious morning tea.

Next we went to cook chocolate chippie cookies.We had a helper called Melenesa,she helped us make the cookie.After that we did a word search on the clear shiny table.After a few minutes our cookies were ready.I took a bite and my mouth drooled.It was one of the most delicious cookies I had ever tasted.I was so excited for lunch time.I would eat some of my cookies an give some to my mom.

When it came to lunch time we all ate and enjoyed our cookies.We played a game of basketball and then had to go back to school.But I remembered that I would totally go to this school.

Butterflies

I have chosen to put up this post because I want to bring out my knowledge to everyone to show how much I have learnt about butterflies,and  also for the people that don't know that much about butterflies,they can get the information form here.
What we had to do was do safe searching on our Chromebooks.On our Chromebooks we had to search information (for our report) about our insect/animal and type what we learnt from these websites.Some of us already knew some information about butterflies so we added it in to our report.
What I enjoyed about this is finding a picture of a butterfly and learning more and more and more about butterflies.I also enjoyed searching it up on the internet and finding out one of the amazing thing you could have known.
What was challenging was that we had to try and find some of the answers to our question and find them on the internet!There were loads of websites but I got over it by just knowing other information,instead of answering the question.

Bright Butterflies

Wings

Butterflies have different colors on their wings such as,blue,green,purple yellow and many more.Their wings slant in the air like an airplane swiftly through the sky to find their food.

Nutrition

They don’t really eat that much food but,they feed on small puddles on the ground,on wet areas,and leaves and plants.Some people think that butterflies hurt people on purpose,but in real life,they just attack when they think they are threatened by something.

Respiration

These butterflies breathe through this type of part called a spiracle,a tiny hole.It is from something called exoskeleton.If they do not have enough food to feast on,they will die and won’t be able to have anymore babies.

Life

Some butterflies live for about a week or 2 but,some others live to 8-9 months because,the weather might not be rainy,and so their would not  be enough puddles so,they would have to find something

else to eat,and then the animal that is eating what the butterflies has to eat next,will have to find something else to feast on!

When butterflies are together and flying together,they are called a lepidoptera.Some times a group of butterflies can form different types of shapes like a flower,Star and many others.

Glossary:

exoskeleton-A part of an insect.And the butterflies use it to breathe and live.

threatened- taking hostile action against someone like threatening someone is like you are going to do something bad to them.

The stomp was getting closer and closer!Storm got ready for anything then........

“RAHHH RAHHHH RAHHH!”It was another group of zombies,coming their way!But she couldn’t defeat them by herself so she turned to ask for help but,

“RAHHHH RAHHH RAGHHH RAHHHH!”They were zombies too.

“AGAIN?Why does this always have to happen every single time of my life.She was so frustrated but didn’t give up so she went to Rangitoto.She knew there would be someone there,right?

She flew and flew and she finally got there.She went and searched through and took a peer around the place.She walked and walked.It was really silent except for her walking.Then something touched her behind,she she turned,it was a ZOMBIE!She freaked out but she was still bold and brave.She struck the zombie as quick as a flash.But it missed it because the zombie had ducked down.She hesitated but then she thought why am I stopping for I should be saving the world.So she ran and hid in a secret spot to think of  a plan.How did this happen?She thought.Who created humans into zombies?She remembered that there was a villain that can turn anything into anything he wanted and it happened as quick as a flash.So storm went to the villain.

She landed on to the land on where the villain was.

“Well,Well,Well.Look who we have here.”Said the evil villain.

“Don’t say that!”Storm’s voice boomed the whole place.The villain collapsed with laughter.

“I can say anything,”But Storm couldn’t take it anymore!

“HOW HAVE YOU TURNED EVERYONE INTO ZOMBIES?”She was furious.

“Why bother asking,you will never ever ever,make me turn them back.”

“Maybe I won’t,but my powers will!Lightning thunder Go!”It made a cyclone,the villain went inside the cyclone…...and that was  the end of him.She flew back to where the zombies were,They were back to normal.Once again,Storm had saved the day.

Storm was flying to go to the Avengers,but then something caught the glimpse of her eye,She turned her head to see what is was.It was a secret island,more like a lost Island.She entered this Island and found herself in a little hut.And there was a bed.She was sure tired so she slept then……….

“Who are you?”It was a fairy,it startled Storm so much that she woke up.

“My name is Storm!I’m sure you’ve heard of me before,right?”She asked the fairy.

“Of course not!I have never heard from such person called Storm!”She replied.

“Well are you a superhero?”The fairy asked Storm.

“Yes,I am!”She replied delightedly.

“Really?If you are a superhero then can you please help me and my family and friends?We came to this Island because there were evil zombies coming after us!Can you help us?”Asked the fairy.

“Of course,I was just going to go to the Avengers so,I will go and ask them to help me help you find a better place and help get rid of these zombies you speak of!”She replied.So she went and searched for the Avengers.

Then she finally got to where the Avengers lived.She went to go tell Captain America but when she touched him………

“Ragh Ragh Ragh Ragh ghgyghghghghghghghgh!”It wasn't Captain America.It was Captain America ZOMBIE!!!!!!!!!

“Captain,why are you a zombie?”But Storm only said that in her head.So she went and got the others but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

“RGHRGRHRGRHGRHRGRHRGHRGRHRGRHRGRHRGRHGRRGRJRGRH!”They were zombies too trying to bite the blood out of her body so she went back to the lost city that she was.

“I think that city is Rangitoto!”Storm studied it and it looked exactly the same island.

So she did what she was supposed to do…………..

“Kapow!”A thunder was created by her.It struck the zombies The zombies fell to the ground.She struck and struck until they were dead.

“Hooray!”The fairies were delighted! So they gave her and the Avengers the land to live on.And they were all happy!Well not really…………………………….

“Stomp,stomp,stomp,!”The fairies and storm heard the stomping coming closer,and closer,and closer.Then……………

5 reasons to persuade someone to doing the right thing.

1.To persuade someone to do the right thing,you have to,tell them to think about their actions that they are about to do and explain to them,how is gets ugly and turns into a fight.

2.You talk to them calmly and politely.So that way,they can calm down and refresh to a new beginning to do the right thing.

3.When you tell them to do the right thing,give them examples of  what happens to people that do the wrong thing.Then maybe they don’t want that bad thing to happen to them and they won’t do it.

4.Show them the school values!School values help them to concentrate on what they are doing wrong.

5.Take them for a walk around,tell them to go play around,and then they will have a fun mind to do the right thing.

Sanitarium Cooking

On a nice and sunny Tuesday 16th of June,me and my class went to the hall to go do some cooking with the sanitarium company.We made our names with fruit and vegetable!After we finished,some of us gobbled our delicious name.

I have chosen to put up this post because,I want to show everyone how I created my name,and also because I was proud of creating this with the help I needed. What I enjoyed the most is making our names and cooking the chickpea patties because,they were really delicious to eat and, for us making our names I loved it because,it made the activity fun and we got to use all the fruits we wanted to use. What was difficult was to cut our names out,and also  mashing  the chickpeas  because the chickpeas were  solid.I enjoyed working with my mum and my group make the patties! I have set a new goal to try and bake at home and, also become a chef when I grow older. I felt excited when we were going to bake patties!We were going to eat what we tasted and it was delicious!
